Topic of Discussion

Steam Condensate and Storm Water Recovery for the Richard Bolling Federal Building

The Richard Bolling Building was constructed in the early 1960s. The 20 story building at around 1.2 million square feet is one of the largest buildings in Kansas City. We began design of the 4 phase complete renovation of the building in 2001. Construction of the 4th phase was just completed this year. The renovation included complete asbestos abatement and a complete gut of the interior. What made this project difficult was the fact the building was fully occupied during construction and the floors were not necessarily remodeled in consecutive order. The Phase IV of the project is currently up for LEED Silver certification and may reach gold. Two items that were used to achieve this goal were utilizing waste steam condensate to provide a heating source for their existing snow melt system and 2 very large cisterns to capture 100% of the storm water and AHU condensate drainage for storm water management and site irrigation.

Please RSVP at by Friday, September 9th @ End of Day.

Fees are $25 for those who RSVP by deadline and $30.00 at the door.
